Devin Golob, owner of Root of Design LLC, has 20 years experience designing landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to starting her own company, she worked full time for two firms where she designed large and small scale projects for residential housing, commercial businesses and public areas. Because her father was career military, Devin moved often as a child and with each new location she was fascinated with the various plants that gave each area its unique sense of place. Horticulture classes ultimately led her to pursue a degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington.
Devin's passion involves meeting with clients to assess their needs and seeing the plans come to fruition. She will take into account client needs, desires, lifestyle and budget to create a sustainable landscape that can be enjoyed all year long. Her goal is to create aesthetic designs with the latest sustainable products and practices all while staying on budget and ensuring clients receive the best possible product for their dollar.

Joe came to landscape architecture through a winding path that began with eight years in construction as a low voltage installer and project manager. In 2019, he transitioned to landscape contracting, where he discovered a deep passion for landscape design that would reshape his career. This led him to intern at a prominent landscape architecture firm in Portland, Oregon, while he searched for the right graduate program to formalize his design education.
Joe chose the University of Washington's landscape architecture program for its exceptional reputation and location in the Pacific Northwest—a region he loves for its unique character and incredible plant palette. He graduated with his Master of Landscape Architecture in 2025, bringing together his years of hands-on construction experience with rigorous design training.
What Joe loves most about landscape architecture is the ability to make a real environmental impact. Through phytoremediation strategies and thoughtful use of native plants, he gets to contribute to keeping the Pacific Northwest as amazing as it is.
When he's not at his computer, you'll find Joe in the kitchen, where he considers himself a fairly decent chef, or out exploring the greater Seattle area with his dog Jax, who's always eager to help discover new trails and neighborhoods.
